I enjoyed your Q & A with Alice. I’m 76 myself and slowing down a little with my computer savvy even though I have been working with computers since 1966. I was a programmer on an IBM 1401 with 8K of memory using SPS (Symbolic Programming Language). I enjoy your news letters.

I am using Vista Home Premium with service pack 1. IE 7 and using Word Perfect 12. About a week ago I could no longer access IE and I found that I couldn’t access my Quattro Pro spreadsheets. I had recently run XP Repair and System Mechanic and I wondered if one of these caused the problem with register changes. After a lot of wasted time with HP support with a woman I couldn’t understand we finally got IE to work but not Quattro Pro. What I needed to restore IE was a System Restore point earlier than the dates displayed (which was only three days). Somehow she was able to get me to an earlier date but I can’t find out how to do that again. Can you tell me how?

Anyhow, I still can’t access my Quattro Pro files. I get two error messages the first …
